Hi-def DVD format wars over? Hah.

So, Toshiba dropped HD-DVD into the abyss. Sony actually won a format battle (note: not war) – amazing – it had been a while

But anyone that thinks Sony’s won a format war here, is a fool. It beat a rival, but its other rival, the one people forget, is ubiquitous broadband and ever larger hard disks. Good luck beating them, Blu-Ray!
