Mystery Jets
So in a previous post I prop'd a collection of glitchy electronica, breaks, IDM and D&B - time now for something a lot softer. Way back in the day, one of my best friends at school was a guy name Kai Fish. We've gone our separate ways, but it warms my heart to see him hitting success with his band, The Mystery Jets. They've already played huge festivals and built a massive following, and with Stereogum announcing that they're eagerly awaiting the new album, well... 2008 could be even bigger. I really encourage you to have a listen to their latest song, Flakes - a loving nod to Jeff Buckley's amazing, if brief, contribution to music. Mystery Jets at Myspace del.icio.us Tags: music...
Last.fm - at LAST, the Great Big Jukebox in the Sky is coming!
I will almost certainly be a subscriber to that. I've wanted nothing more since the day I first streamed a track online. I would orgasm if: New bands started uploading their music to Last.fm as fast and frequently as MySpace (MySpace is actually more of a 'new music' source than Last.fm is at the moment - weird. I've been playing with Imeem too), I have a desktop client (even better: a Foobar/iTunes plugin) to access this Great Big Jukebox in the Sky, and This desktop client integrates HypeMachine (I wouldn't be totally surprised, and am secretely hoping, that CBS buys HypeMachine sooner rather than later), like Mozilla Songbird has done very successfully (image above: a screenshot of their subscribe page which I just stumbled upon, though I'm already a subscriber)...
Revolution over at EvokeONE
Fascinating virtual art exhibition loosely based around the theme of revolution (there are many others including Fable, Calligraphy, Muse, etc) featuring digital design art, music and photography - really, really high quality stuff. Love the music too, unexpectedly! I'll be returning frequently to Evokeone.com if they can keep this up. del.icio.us Tags: design,art,photography,music...
